At Therapy Networks and Psychological Services, we work with individuals seeking psychological assessment and provide therapeutic care to adults. We are motivated to assist our clients gain clarity of various mental health, academic, social-emotional, or behavioral concerns to improve their daily functioning.
Our Founder

Adria Hickson, PsyD

She began her initial training while working in the Georgia public school setting. As a school psychologist, she served students K-12 who had various social/emotional, cognitive, and developmental needs. She went on to work in community mental health, college counseling centers, private practices, and integrated healthcare. Dr. Hickson has extensive experience in comprehensive assessment as a school psychologist and as a psychometrist for private clinical practice. In addition to diagnostic skills, her professional experiences foster a solid foundation for her therapeutic skills when working with clients. Furthermore, Dr. Hickson has worked closely with social workers, professional counselors, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate comprehensive treatments.

Dr. Hickson completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia and then completed her Master’s and Specialist degrees in education / school psychology from Georgia State University. As a school psychologist, she provided academic and behavioral consultations to faculty, gave individual and group counseling to students, and worked with the crisis response team to address school wide intervention for traumatic events. She also helped to cultivate classroom interventions specific to individual students, conducted eligibility meetings, student support team meetings, and 504 meetings for students who needed academic support and accommodations. Dr. Hickson specializes in psychoeducational evaluations and comprehensive psychological evaluations. These evaluations assist in diagnosing mental health disorders, identifying varying strengths and weaknesses, and cultivating appropriate recommendations for children and adults.

She achieved her Doctorate of Psychology degree from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, Illinois. As a part of her clinical training, she worked in community mental health and completed comprehensive psychological evaluations assessing parenting capacity, substance misuse, and propensity for domestic violence. In addition to working with children, Dr. Hickson has experience in assessing within the adult population and examining various concerns including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, and severe and persistent mental illnesses. Furthermore, she has conducted assessments and provided therapeutic support for individuals in consideration for bariatric surgery.
